Ohne Wecker erwachte ich heute Morgen kurz vor 10 Uhr und eine halbe Stunde befand ich mich draussen auf der Terrasse mit herrlicher Aussicht aufs Meer und bediente mich an einem riesigen Frühstücksbuffet... 

Without an alarm clock I woke up just before 10 am this morning and a half an hour later I was outside on the terrace with a great sea view and help myself at the huge breakfast buffet...

Zum Verdauen legte ich mich an den Strand wo ich fast den ganzen Nachmittag an der milden Sonne genoss. Es ist hier im Moment übrigens angenehme 25 Grad am Tag und 15 nachts.

To digest all I had eaten I went to the beach where I enjoyed almost the whole afternoon at the mild sun. Here it is at the moment pleasant 25 centigrade during the day and 15 at night.

Danach buchte ich ein t-time auf dem Makadi Golfplatz für übermorgen, Mittwoch 25.12., füllte mein Portemonnaie mit ägyptischen Pfunden und verliess um 17 Uhr zum ersten Mal das Hotel... Ich spazierte entlang der Strandpromenade in Richtung Stadt, genoss die Bewegung und das Shopping... Es fiel mir bei diesem meinem 11. Aufenthalt hier in Ägypten auf, dass die Gespräche vor allem politischen Inhaltes waren... 'Wie kann es sein, dass wir unsere eigene Brüder umbringen?' war immer wieder das Thema... Die Menschen scheinen mir ziemlich fassungslos, denn immer wieder wurde ich gefragt wie ich die Zukunft Ägyptens sehe. Da ich eigentlich ziemlich zuversichtlich und überzeugt von Darwins Theorie des Überlebens der Fittesten bin, war meine Antwort immer wieder: 'Wenn du ans Gute glaubst, lebe es vor und andere werden dir folgen, weil es das einzige ist, für das es sich lohnt zu leben!‘ Dazu fällt mir gerade die Begegnung eines Österreichers im Flugzeug ein, der zum ersten Mal nach Ägypten reiste... Ich erzählte ihm, dass ich seit min. 5 Jahren Medien wie Nachrichten und Werbung boykottiere, weil ich absolut dagegen bin, wie diese und zu beeinflussen versuchen... Ich erzählte ihm auch, dass die Leute hier fast 20 Stunden am Tag in ihren Geschäften sitzen und Leute zu treffen und mit ihnen zu sprechen eine willkommene Abwechslung ist - keine Belästigung wie so viele denken! Er verdankte mir den Tipp und freute sich immer mehr auf seinen 3-wöchigen Aufenthalt hier! : )

Thereafter I booked t-time at the Makadi Golf Course for Wednesday the 25^th of December, filled my wallet with Egyptian pounds and left the hotel at 5 pm for the first time... I walked along the beach promenade towards the city, enjoying moving and also shopping... It struck that now that I visited Egypt for the 11th time talks mainly were of a political content... ‘ How can it be that we kill our own brothers?’ was the topic again and again... People seem pretty stunned, because I was asked many times how I see the future of Egypt. Since I'm actually pretty confident and convinced of Darwin's theory of the survival of the fittest, my answer was always: 'If you believe in the good, live it and others will follow you because it is the only thing worth living for!' This reminds me also of the Austrian I met on the plane, who traveled to Egypt for the first time... I told him that I have been boycotting media such as news and advertising at least for 5 years now, because I am absolutely opposed to methods which try to influence others... I also told him that the people here are spending almost 20 hours a day in their stores and to meet people and talk to them is a welcome change - no harassment as so many think! He owed me the tip and was looking forward to his three-week stay here more and more! : )

Um 20 Uhr traf ich endlich in der Marina ein und entschloss mich im Restaurant Che Guevara mein Abendessen einzunehmen – nicht nur wegen des sympathischen Revoluzzers, ich verspeiste auch köstliche Riesencrevetten und genoss einen perfekten Sevice! Zurück liess ich mich von Ahmed chauffieren, den ich auch gleich für Mittwoch zum Gofplatz und zurück engagierte.

At 8 pm I finally reached the marina and decided to have dinner at the restaurant Che Guevara - not only because of likeable revolutionist, I had also delicious king prawns and enjoyed a perfect sevice! The way back I was driven by Ahmed, who I hired also to drive me to the golf course and back on Wednesday.
