Hurghada - El Gouna - Hurghada
Auch
diesen Morgen begann ich mit einem ausgiebigen Frühstück um 10:30 Uhr,
schliesslich standen 18 Loch Golf zu spielen vor mir...
Also this morning I started with a hearty breakfast at 10:30 am, as there were
18 holes of golf to
play later on...

Um 11:15
Uhr holte mich Ahmed ab und eine halbe Stunde später hatten wir die 25 km
hinter uns gelegt und kamen im El Gouna Golfplatz an. Dort wurde ich herzlich
vom Golfmanager Scott Christensen begrüsst, der mir 20% Rabatt gewährte - Blog
sei Dank! Um 12 Uhr schlug ich ab und es wehte ein stetiger Wind... zum Glück
nicht ganz so stark wie vor 4 Jahren, damals windete es unsere Trollies um!
Heute spielte ich grottenschlecht, vor allem die ersten 9 Loch... und ich bin mir
gar nicht sicher, ob ich dem Wind die Schuld in die Schuhe schieben soll? ; )
Nach 3
1/2 Stunden hatte ich die 18 Loch hinter mir und bis ich alles wieder
eingepackt hatte, fuhr Ahmed vor um mich zurück nach Hurghada zu fahren. Er
hatte schlechte Nachrichten… seine Mutter hatte akute Herzprobleme und er würde
nachdem er mich im Hotel abgeladen hatte direkt nach Qena fahren um sie ins
Krankenhaus zu bringen… : (
Zurück im
Hotel freute ich mich auf eine Dusche und noch mehr auf meine Massage... Yao
massierte mich eine volle Stunde und ich döste einige Male ein! Fantastisch!
At 11:15 am Ahmed picked me up and half an hour later we arrived at the El Gouna golf course 25 km further north. There I was warmly welcomed by the golf manager Scott Christensen, who gave me a 20% discount – thanks to my blog! At noon I drove off with there was a steady wind... fortunately not quite as strong as 4 years ago when our trollies were blown over by the wind! Today I played abysmal, especially the first 9 holes... and I'm not sure if I should blame it to the wind? ; )
After 3 1/2 hours I had played the 18 holes and until I had everything packed up Ahmed drove up to drive me back to Hurghada. He had bad news... his mother was suffering from acute heart problems and he would go directly to Qena to bring her to the hospital after he had dropped me off at the hotel... : (

Back at the hotel I was looking forward to a shower and even more to my massage... Yao massaged me a full hour and I dozed off a few times! Fantastic!

Da mich Mohamed vom Limusinenservice des
Hotels schon seit 10 Tagen vergeblich zum Essen eingeladen hat, fragte ich ihn
heute Abend ob das Angebot noch stand… Idealerweise arbeitet er jeweils bis 21
Uhr, so dass ich mich noch etwas ausruhen und konnte. Um 21 Uhr nahmen wir ein
Taxi zum Star Fish Restaurant, wo Mohamed die Bestellung aufgab und ich mich
überraschen liess – ganz klar wurde viel zu viel bestellt, aber so konnte ich
von allerlei leckeren Dingen eine Kostprobe nehmen! : ) Den Schlummertrunk
nahmen wir in der Marina in der Friend’s Bar ein und Mohammed erzählte mir
Geschichten und zeigte Fotos seiner russischen Freundin, die bei der Armee
arbeitet. Da ich aber ziemlich müde war, nahm ich schon vor Mitternacht ein
Taxi zurück ins Hotel.
Morgen werde ich mit meinem langjährigen Freund Sheikh Marey für 4 Tage in der Wüste
unterwegs sein und keine Internetverbindung haben… sobald ich aber zurück in
Hurghada bin, werde ich meine Berichte ins Netz laden…

As Mohamed from the limousine service at the hotel has been inviting me for dinner in vain since 10 days, I asked him tonight if the offer still stood... Ideally, he works until 9 pm, so I still could take a little rest. At 9 pm we took a taxi to the Star Fish restaurant where Mohamed gave the order and I let surprise myself – of course much too much was ordered, but like this I could take a taste from all sorts of delicious things! : ) The nightcap we took in the marina at the Friend 's Bar and Mohammed told me stories and showed pictures of his Russian girlfriend who works in the army. But since I was pretty tired I took a taxi back to the hotel before midnight.
Tomorrow I will be leaving for the desert for 4 days with my dear friend Sheikh Marey and will have no internet connection... as soon as I'm back in Hurghada, I will upload my reports into the web...
